A message to Year 11 from Head of Year - Mrs Freeman
As you enter your final year of secondary education it is important to look back on your successes. From the first day in Year 7, you have embarked on a journey which will come to an end in less than a year. Every lesson, school trip, sporting achievement and friendship has contributed to who you have become and it is my sincere hope that you can truly look back with no regrets when you leave us in June 2019.
Before that day comes, you have a lot to do. Revision must become a top priority and every effort must be made to be in school and engaged in lessons if you are to achieve success and results of which you can be truly proud.
As Year 11 pupils we expect commitment and maturity from you. Now is the time to work with staff and keep your eyes on the finish line. I encourage you to reflect on Year 10 but then press on with energy, dedication and courage towards your goals.
Year 11 is a challenging time and as pupils, I know you are keen to achieve success and reach your full potential. You all understand the importance of hard work to enable you to be able to pursue your chosen subjects beyond GCSE level. There is much support available and I would urge all of you to acknowledge this and take full advantage of all that is on offer. It is important that you, as GCSE pupils, recognise the need for leisure time and strike a balance between your academic studies and leisure time if you are to maintain a positive and healthy approach to your studies.
I would like to thank you for all that you do in school and the commitment you make to school life in the many and varied forms that this takes. I look forward to the opportunity of working with you and your parents as your Head of Year and celebrating your successes throughout the year.
