Work is Set to Begin on the £2.7 Million Sports Hall at Emerson Park Academy.

Emerson Park Academy in Hornchurch, is thrilled to announce the start of a long-awaited project: the construction of a brand-new £2.7 million Sports Hall, set to begin this autumn.
The funding, secured through the latest round of Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) allocations, totals £3.4 million and will be used to design and build a modern, state-of-the-art Sports Complex that will benefit both students and the wider Havering community.
Head Teacher Scott McGuiness shared the exciting news:
“I am delighted to tell you that Emerson Park Academy has been awarded £3.4 million in the latest round of CIF funding, and the design work for our new Sports Complex has already begun. The actual building work should begin in the Autumn term.”
The announcement marks a major milestone for the school, which has spent the past five years campaigning for updated PE and sports facilities. The new complex will not only enhance the school’s Physical Education curriculum but also serve as a vital community resource, with modern amenities available for public use outside of school hours.
“This is long overdue,” McGuiness added. “It will significantly support the PE department, encourage greater pupil participation in sport, and provide outstanding facilities for local groups and organisations.”
The investment is set to have a lasting positive impact on the school and surrounding area, offering top-tier sports facilities and promoting healthy lifestyles for generations to come.
