Dracula
Auditions for the Drama production of ‘Dracula’ took place in March 2019 with rehearsals starting in earnest after Easter. The cast was small, as this was an ensemble performance intended to be acted in the round in the Drama Studio over a number of nights. The production featured minimalistic costumes and set with limited special effects (just lighting) and choral speaking throughout; the intention was for the play to come alive through the acting of this incredibly talented cast.
We were a cast of 13 ranging from Years 8 to Year 11. After twice weekly rehearsals for months and a full rehearsal day during the October half term holiday, we finally performed ‘Dracula’ on Tuesday 28th and Wednesday 29th October to parents, staff and friends. Feedback from the audience was excellent and the cast did themselves, their families, their director and the school proud!
‘Dracula’ showcased the amazing talent that we have here at Emerson Park Academy and will hopefully inspire others to audition for our 2020 summer musical production of ‘Mary Poppins.’ I would like to thank all of those students involved and their parents for their support.
