On Wednesday, Mrs Mitchell took 15 pupils to Rainham Cricket Club, to help run Years 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 Primary Cricket festival.

The group included a mix of pupils who have undergone the leadership training from the Havering Collective and have attended various events over the past few years, as well as a handful of pupils who represent the school and local clubs at Cricket. They had a very short briefing and 'training session' on how to officiate 3 Tee's Cricket and Rapid Fire Cricket and were sent off to run the whole competition with 13 primary schools of both ages.

Mrs Mitchell commends their efforts as it was not an easy task in the heat. But, they managed themselves perfectly and officiated all the way to the finals.

If you see any of the pupils around school please congratulate them as they really were a credit to themselves and the school. Also, see below an email sent from Havering Sports Collective:

"Thank you so much for bringing your pupils in to officiate in the year 1 to 4 cricket and I have to say that they were an absolute credit to Emerson Park Academy. It was a long day for them, and they never faltered in their enthusiasm for making sure that their job was done. I think they were great role models for the younger children and I also had many positive comments from teachers and parents. "
