EPA has been invited onto an Erasmus+ Project which will last for the next two years. EPA will be representing the UK and working with schools from Bulgaria, Latvia, Spain, Italy and Greece on a project developed by one of our Bulgarian partner schools.
The project is called BEST, Be Enthusiastic, Search the Treasure and involves the pupils collaborating and using ICT to present research on places of historical and geographical interest within their local areas. The project, funded by the European agency Erasmus, includes a visit to each of the 6 countries. The first visit was to Alcover, Spain from 10th to 15th November, during which time four Year 9 pupils made the week-long journey and began the collaborative project.
The second trip to Bulgaria was postponed and eventually took place in October 2021, however, due to travel restrictions we were unable to make the trip.
The third trip was to Italy in November 2021, 4 pupils and 2 staff from EPA made the trip and participated in projects learning about the history and geography of the Rome area, including a visit to Etruscan tombs, a castle and Rome itself.
Trip number 4 will be to Greece in March 2022, EPA will host in the Easter holidays and the whole project will conclude with a trip to Latvia in May 2022.
The first task was to design a logo for the project, each country sent an entry and then voted for their favourite. The Bulgarian entry won and can be seen here.
